Inclusion and Equity

A fundamental principle that both equity and inclusivity demonstrate is the recognition that the world is composed of a diverse range of individuals, each with their unique differences. Embracing these differences is essential in fostering a sense of inclusion and equity towards others. This, in turn, enables individuals to feel secure, valued, and embraced within their community.

Mutual Agreements

In our classroom, we fostered inclusion and equity through mutual agreements that encouraged healthy relationships among students. These agreements provided a platform for students to express their thoughts on respect, kindness, trust, and other virtues, and how they hoped these virtues would be mutually upheld. This approach ensured that every student had an equal opportunity to be heard and valued in the classroom.

Listening Notes

One way in which we implemented mutual agreements in our class interactions was through the wellness summative listening notes. for the listening notes, I selected a group whose presentation captivated me. I practiced active listening by devoting all my attention to their presentation and avoiding distractions. My attentive listening was displayed through the thorough explanation of what I learned from the presentation. Additionally, in my notes, I provided respectful constructive criticism while also acknowledging the precision and detail put into the presentation. This demonstrates the respect that I have for my peers and my ability to uphold my end of the mutual agreements
